Minoritymedia is a EU Marie Curie excellence team funded under the 6th PCRDT for the period 01/03/2006 – 28/02/2010. The project, led by Dr Isabelle Rigoni, is hosted at the University of Poitiers and at the research center MIGRINTER (France).

Research project

The project Minoritymedia targets written, radio, audiovisual and web media created by and for immigrants and/or minority/marginalised ethnic groups, including historic and linguistic minorities.

The research Minoritymedia is focused on the dynamics between, on one hand, the production process of otherness and, secondly, the production process of domination. The intention is the analysis of the role of ethnic minority media and the impact of minorities both in the structuring of social environments, and in their positioning in terms of the societies in which these media exist.
